The Challenge
 In 1998 Dyeables, an award-winning leader in the bridal apparel industry, decided they needed a web presence. To create that web presence they turned to Alternative Systems, who had developed and maintained their internal accounting and manufacturing systems for several years. They needed a site that would handle the high bandwidth that their brand name would generate, but still be easy to update and maintain.
The Alternative Systems Solution
The solution came in two parts. The back end of the web site was built to mirror the complex product build process as outlined by Dyeables. It was designed to be familiar and easy to use for Dyeables employees. The front end was designed to incorporate this complex product data into a consumer friendly online catalog. Over the years the site has gone through several iterations and designs and the back end has become more and more complex, but the focus has remained on ease of use for both the employee and the consumer.
